MORE PLASTIC THAN EVER BEFORE IS BEING CLEANED UP IN OUR OCEANS!

Boyan Slat founded The Ocean Cleanup in 2013. So far it has removed over 17,000 tons of garbage in bodies of water across the globe. On Twitter (now known as X), Boyan Slat posted,  "During the first eight years of The Ocean Cleanup, we collected 314,000 kg [692 pounds] of trash. We're now collecting the same amount... every 4.5 days."
